Female Sexual Health

The sexuality in women has always been highly prioritized. But with the changing times it is now openly discussed too. As women are exposed to the advancement in science and social outlook, they have also become increasingly aware of their sexuality and sexual health. And this does not pertain to a single class or age, but cuts across all ethnic and social boundaries; as is the rising concern to their sexual health.

If sexuality is the spice enhancing women’s personality, the sexual health of women is an important aspect of a healthy and fulfilling sexual life. It not only determines the physical well-being of the women but also rejuvenates the vivacity of living and enjoying life to the fullest.

Most women explore their sexual desires in some way, at some point in their lives; some even choose never to be sexually active. The freedom to choose how to express yourself sexually is a vital aspect of female sexual health.

Women’s Sexual health is also attributed to the proper knowledge of the body and its functions. Women who understand their bodies well can make better choices about the sexual activities that they enjoy. This also helps them in making important decisions like becoming pregnant or choosing to avoid it. Awareness about sexually transmitted infections can help women protect themselves and their partners from disease.

But like every other conflicting health hazards, the female sexual health has also been under scrutiny. Most women suffer from Female Sexual Dysfunction or FSD. As per the Journal of the American Medical Association, about 40 million American women experience some or other form of sexual disorder. A woman can experience Female Sexual Dysfunction at some point in her life.

But then, all these disorders are treatable, the necessity is to understand the situation (disorder) and take immediate consultation from your health care professional to get rid of these sexual disorders.
